Inner Reflections Psychotherapy Center, LLC presents
Two Day COUPLES Workshop/Retreat
The Seven Principles Program for couples is a workshop based on the internationally acclaimed research of Dr.John Gottman as presented in his New York Times Bestselling book:
Do you have difficulty communicating and understanding each other? Are you stuck, arguing in circles about the same issues? Or are you in a good relationship and would like to make it even better?
THEN THIS WORKSHOP IS FOR YOU!
Consider this class if you:
Are beginning a relationship you want to last - Seek to enhance your relationship with your spouse or partner - Have experienced conflict and want to learn tools to resolve it - Want to improve the intimacy and friendship in your relationship - Are already in counseling and want to enrich the experience - Have considered seeing a marriage or relationship counselor?
Research shows that on average, couples wait six years from the first signs of problems before they seek help. That's like waiting six years with cancer before seeking medical care. Please don't wait until your relationship is terminal.
The Seven Principles for Making Marriage work is the culmination of four decades of research. The 7 principles program is designed for ALL couples in a committed relationship. This program will give you new insights and research based relationship skills that can dramatically improve the intimacy and friendship in your relationship and help you resolve conflict in a healthy productive way. The Gottman research provides considerable information which enables one to predict, with a high degree of accuracy - about 94 % - which couples will stay together and which are likely to divorce.
One of the reasons couples get stuck in perpetual conflict is simply a lack of education and training. We are more than willing to train for marathons, or seek education to further our careers, or go to a financial advisor to guide us in our investments, yet we go into marriage with virtually no training or tools to have available when the inevitable conflict comes.
Join me for 2 fun filled days of training that will fuel your passion for each other and equip you to take on any conflict.
What you will learn :
You will learn how to: Foster respect, affection, and closeness - Build and share a deeper connection with each other - Identify your relationship's specific strengths and how to build on them - Learn about the effects of physiological flooding and how it may affect conflict resolution - Use the Fondness and Admiration System to renew respect and care for one another - Create an emotional bank account that you can draw upon in times of stress - Intimately gain knowledge of each other's world - Keep conflict discussions calm - Learn to recognize destructive relationship patterns and how to transform these patterns - Break through and resolve conflict gridlock - Learn how to repair the relationship after a fight - Find out how you can make your dreams and aspirations come true for you, your partner, and your relationship - Learn how just 6 hours a week can save your marriage.
W h a t t o E xp e c t :
This workshop combines teaching and demonstrations with one-on-one work sessions where you and your partner focus on your relationship with each other. Confidentiality is strictly maintained. Except for a brief introduction, you will not share anything with the larger class unless you so choose.
